Phonogram 2: The Breakfast Club -
Tis my article on the second volume of Kieron Gillen and Jamie McKelvie’s Phonogram. Technically it’s a part of HU’s comics and music roundtable, which is my excuse for taking two whole months to write the follow-up I promised when I reviewed the first volume all the way back in February.

Though I have to say that the lyrics to this one make me angry. It’s not even just a “hey you’re hot come home with me it’s nothing serious but it’ll be fun” club song: the singer goes out of his way to make fun of the girl for acting like she’s on a real date. AND, even worse, he can’t even bother to pretend to be charming! Or, in other words, like someone who treats women well! Because that’s too much work when chemistry will take care of it all anyway, am I right?!
And it’s like, really, dude? That’s your whole strategy? Wait around until she’s overwhelmed by your sexy vibes? Why don’t you just drug her, while you’re at it? ….And then he does. (“Here’s another drink. Swallow.”)
In conclusion, one of those times you’re glad the song with the beat you like is in another language so you don’t have to care what it says.
I made Koganbot a list of my top singles of 2013, and then I made a playlist. It’s mostly K-hip hop, with some pop and RnB. Lots of triumphant piano, strings and horns combined with modern pulse-raising music technologies for a spring-like feeling… or something like that, XD.

Kpop Hearts the 80s II: Nonstop Exercise Mix -
Not entirely Kpop, not entirely 80s, and there are a couple stops and starts. I do use it for exercise, though!
